8 things I recommend you buy and use

Products. They can make your life somewhat better. Sometimes in surpising ways!

1. Audible - £7.99/month (price includes 1 book / month - and then it’s extra for more)

Audible is just very worth it. I ‘read’ a lot more books now, and it’s just a much lower barrier to entry to get into a new subject when you can get an audiobook on it. They sometimes have sales where you can buy credits (with which you can buy books) for cheap (like 6 pounds each) — grab those.

You already know this, but Oatly Barista Edition oat milk is dope. So creamy. If you're vegan and you're not buying barista edition oat milk you're missing out. (Or you're healthy -- this stuff isn't the healthiest.)

3. Life by Design ('life coaching' workbook) - £8.99

I loved this workbook. It's fun, thought-provoking,  and helpful. It's marketed in a very feminine way but it's actually totally gender-neutral.

Best cheap vegan cheesy pasta thing I’ve had.

5. Myexpattaxes - £150-£250

I recommend myexpattaxes if you're an American filing abroad. I didn’t have a great experience (in particular, it took a while because of back and forth emailing with slow response times), but it wasn't terrible (which doing them by myself would have been) and it was £250 for the edition where a tax professional looks over your stuff and corresponds with you (and £150 without), instead of, like, £600-£800 which is what it would have been if I'd hired someone. If you want to use them, use this referral link for £20 off (and give me rewards for next year).

6. Pocket - free!

Pocket is great -- it lets you save articles for later. I most often use it to save articles and then later listen to them. This doesn't work well for articles with a lot of numbers or figures. Get the extension for your browser so you can save articles as you come across them on your computer and they'll come up on the app on your phone when you want to read or listen to them.

7. CRZ leggings - £25.00

I love these, and friends who’ve got them do too. They're affordable, the pocket and fit are great, and the fabric is totally cool — super thin and soft. (The fleece lined ones are good too!)

8. Hot water bottle - £5.87

A lot of Americans have literally never used one of these. They’re so nice, especially when you’re feeling sick with a cold, crampy, or nauseated (but even if you’re just feeling a bit chilly or like you could use some cozy energy).
